“iN so Far are all about big songs, big guitars and big ambitions”
– (Quote from Music Live).
ISF started out towards the end of 2004 and continually work hard to make their mark in the music industry and to make people take notice and listen to them.
Over the last few years iNsoFar have worked hard under a DIY ethic, continually touring and playing around the UK, on both independent tours and alongside more established acts as a touring support (including tours with cult NYC act MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE, Sleaze punk rockers TRASHLIGHT VISION and more recently cult UK rock act ANTIPRODUCT).
Since the release of their debut single “The Fall” (Casket/Copro Records) the band have gone from strength to strength, appearing in magazines such as Metal Hammer, Kerrang! and Powerplay and gaining airplay on scuzz TV and BBC Radio.
2007 has so far been the bands most successfull year to date, as the band are now signed to independent label NotOnYourRadio and have joined the Jagermeister UK bands roster.
The bands much anticipated mini album "Medicine for the Melancholic" is now available nationwide from all major shops, online record stores and all major digital download sites.

"Medicine for the Melancholic":

Rocksound magazine Review –
"iNsoFar play music that is all about energy, live and positivity... tracks like "Vanity" and "Reach Out" might well have you pogoing like a madman..."
Kerrang! magazine Review –
"As their independant record company correctly proclaims, the best tunes are not on the radio. While INSOFAR struggle to achieve the production quality that their music warrants, if you look deeper there's some pretty neat hooks at play that might just catch you unawares. Artistically it's nothing original - the bustling, punk-edged spirit of early Iron Maiden fleshed out with a Wildhearts inspired appraoch to songwriting, but as comparisons go, those two aren't bad. At their best when they wallop you with rockers like Vanity and Never Wrong, this should at least win them new friends." 3/5
Powerplay magazine Review –
I originally reviewed iNsoFar's EP a few months back and having now heard the full album, I stand behind my earlier words. This band does deserve your attention. Mixing rock with punkier elements and some awe inspiring guitaring and playing, this outfit simply rock like thier very lives depend on it.
Opening with "Reach Out", which is a guitar and vocal fronted assault, this instantly grabs the listener and makes you sit up and pay attention. Full of hooks and chunky riffs this song is a classic. "Last Love" slows a little in the intensity, but not in the lyrical angst and this track shows iNsoFar's ability to pen a catchy song and deliver it very well. "Resonate" has a really catchy chorus and is once again heartfelt and easily accessible to the listener, while "Never Wrong" heads off in a Blink 182 type direction in that punk rock type of way that is neither commercial or really punk. Another catchy, riff heavy song with some strong vocals, as is "Vanity". That particular track is one of my favourites with its raw yet catchy character and the chorus is addictive, to boot.
"Why Forgive" is a very up tempo way to finish an album and leaves you wanting more. iNsoFar have definately grown since their E.P came out and this album speaks for itself. Fans of good music and punk/rock in particular would do well to score themselves a copy of this album and go check the band out when they play near you. iNsoFar are destined to go a lot further. 7/10

Top rock stuff type thing... Opener "Reach Out" almost had me fooled, at least until the vocals kicked in, whereupon it suddenly became impossible to imagine it being performed without the singer leading the crowd into a shoutalong... "Vanity" and "Never Wrong" follow very nicely in this tradition and mark Insofar as an impassioned and noteworthy bunch. .. the band as a whole really know how to write a good fighting tune. That they're still a relatively new band on the UK scene is surprising because some of these songs wouldn't sound out of place with the full MTV rockstar treatment, sunglasses and all." 4/5

"Listening to 'Medicine for the Melancholic', you're taken back to the times, in the early Naughties, when you were listening to new Brit-bands like The Lost Prophets and Hundred Reasons for the first time. iNsoFar are giving us back that British face of rock that was pure, good and very much REAL. I found myself falling hard for the easy-going, melodic and back-to-basics rock greatness blaring out of my speakers.. iNsoFar are rock gods in the making"
RoomThirteen say -
"It's always best to stay away from describing a band as just rock, or alternative rock as people will therefore assume the band to be bland, however this is not the case with iN so Far.... 9/13"
Street Voice says -
"For far too long American Rock bands have been showing us how it's done but now we have a band that compete with anything that is coming out of the USA. From the start to finish of this eight track album you're just treated to some wicked tunes.... Simply the best. 10/10 "
Rock 3 Radio say -
The latest CD from 'In So Far' provides a mix of sounds from the opening track 'Reach Out' with its great rock melodies and harmonies and ending with the 'Why Forgive?'... using some great lyrical hooks the band have written and created some excellent tunes that will have you humming along. 4/5

In a copy-cat world of music, it's hard to hear something fresh, new and exciting without knowing exactly which bands they sound like, or have been influenced by. iNsoFar have conquered that. This is fresh, new and exciting, an album that will have you rocking out in your kitchen. It's a wonder they're not all over the radio by now. Great words, great solos, great songs. Listen out in particular for Last Love, Resonate and Vanity - 5/5.
Scene Slut say -
'There is a real stand out track on here, 'Never Wrong'. The vocal work is reminiscent of Charlie Simpson but it's the instrumental work that really makes this worth a listen. Hannah Marie's guitar work is awesome, top notch and the track is really catchy. 'Walk Away' is another great track, it has a fantastic bassline provided by Katy Briscoe. There are some great vocal harmonies on this album and their songs are really well played, iNsoFar look set to become an extremely popular band.
Hard Rock House says -
"from the very first listen I was hooked on the sheer exuberance of the performances and excellent song writing... All in all iNsoFar are a band to look out for in the future."

Live:
"Sussex/South Surrey based iN so Far returned to Nescot with the same explosive energy as their previous visit. Their music is a patchwork of genres with clear punk rock grounding with a metallic edge and a pop dusting with the air-tight musicianship and energetic performance to stitch it all together.
The songs are fast, powerful and steering clear of self-indulgence, pretension and all obvious modern cliché. Closing song "Choker" epitomises the band's Brit-Rock sound charged with the members' American music influences and it's clear to see why this band has received critical acclaim from the likes of Bruce Dickenson and Metal Hammer and have toured with the likes of AntiProduct and Mindless Self Indulgence."
Rocksound Magazine - Live review:
Tonights about belonging to something. As the swell of young emo tinged bands sharing bills and myspace friends continues apace, the sense of community grows. iNsoFar's breed of classic rock ;aced with punkish riffs doesn't quite fir the seen, but the band impress with confidence. 7/10

Metal Hammer Review –
No one complains if your derivative/generic and good. Look at metalcore. These guys may sound like the wildhearts in a straightforward punk rock way, but the songs and musicianship are great and the singers voice has enough character to carry it off. 8/10
Subba Cultcha –
With the punk edge of early Maiden, and the call to arms politics of Boy Sets Fire - iNsoFar are riotously potent in times of too many people taking the safe route.
Rock 3 Radio –
In so far have come a long way since their successful 2005 demo EP and subsequent single, not only have they matured in their song writing but their musicianship has improved immensely which has allowed them to write even better songs.
Still with their instinctive feel for a great melody but now they can be more expansive with the sound and it shows on their excellent new single 'Reach Out' the song opens with a thick guitar riff and then thunders as the rest catch up, the pulse racing riff cuts in on the choruses while Paul keeps the song pumping with his great vocals.
This is a three track Single and the two 'B' sides are pretty reasonable as well which shows that this band has talent. ..And wasn't Hannah on Bass a few years ago?.
Hard Rock House.Com –
"They mix up-tempo melodic punk riffs with hard rock guitar solos and chant-a-long choruses so seamlessly and effortlessly that you can't fail to be sucked in. Think Lostprophets or 3 Colours Red at their best and you've got the right kind of area sonically"
punkoiuk.co.uk -
"Excellent stuff... fast bursts of energy, melodic riffs sharp as a razors edge think Social Distortion, Alkaline Trio and the later Chron Gen gives a good picture. This band are big on guitars and have produced 3 gems full of subtle touches even with a gothic feel.. watch out for insofar, think big"
"The Fall" (Debut single - Casket Records):

Metal Hammer Magazine article -
“Pop-punk style anthems with big vocal harmonies and a bubbly, shiney sheen. The band’s single “The Fall” features three varied tracks than run from the metal guitar solo, through emo lyricism, in and out of upbeat punk rhythms and rocking melodies. It’s not “punk” in the traditional way (no rancidisms here), but it is bursting with the energy and exitement of modern pop-punk heroes like The Starting Line”
Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) on debut single The Fall -
“Vey fine track, Really really very catchy. Very very good”
Cop Out Magazine (track also on cover cd) -
A different blend of melodic pop punk. In So Far, cater to the ever humming catchy chorus brigade, but throw in guitar licks descendent of G'N'R or Jane's Addiction and lyrics that depict the decadent side of life with a tinge of sensitivity .The three tracks on offer encapsulate the qualities that catapulted bands like Hundred Reasons and Lost Prophets into the limelight in recent years. 4/5
Powerplay Magazine -
Hugely impressive debut from UK rock act In So Far. This EP features 3 superb blasts of energetic pop punk. InSoFar have spent the first year of their career on the road, most notably opening for Mindless Self Indulgence on their UK tour.
Bolstered by the surprisingly muscular guitar work of Hannah Marie, Brigstock is given free rein to deliver some wonderful vocal lines over some well structured songs, best of the bunch being the title track, but not by much. Definatly ones to watch. 7/10

'Catchy pop-punk' the press release calls it, and they're not far from the mark. Maybe veering onto the metal side of things more than punk, but that's no bad thing. Got to say, I like his voice. Very natural, I like his accent – he's not trying to hard, it sounds honest (unlike a lot of the guitar music i get to review). Not terrifically original, but they've got an ear for a hook alright.
The lead track definitely sounds like Top 40 material. I could imagine Steve Lamac playing this, if he was still on Radio It's punchy, nicely produced (it has that glossy, punchy sheen which sounds great on radio) – all except the third track, Chocker – which sounds anticlimactically muffled and distant. Strange, but this is my only criticism. The track itself is still strong. A very accomplished first release.
Metal 4 Life -
Pop rock you can admit to liking. How many times has this happened to you before – you judge a band based solely on their name or their image and write them off. Then you hear them, and they become a secret guilty pleasure. You don’t want to like them, but the music prevails.
Admittedly, In So Far employ a pop-rock style to their music that is not going to appeal to everyone, and certainly won’t convert anyone. It is unoriginal to a point, and is nothing that Inme or Lostprophets haven’t delivered in the past.
Fans of pop-tinged rock tunes will lap this single up, though. The songs are well structured, employing a balance of slow and fast breakdowns, guitar solos (that actually fit the songs well, I might add!), catchy hooks and infectious choruses. On only the second time I heard ‘The Fall’, I found myself singing along to the ‘I’ve seen your face before, you know I can’t pretend/ when I see you fall I know that this is not the end’ chorus with frontman Paul Brigstock.
The other tracks aren’t as strong, however. ‘Drowning’ is a solid song but perhaps doesn’t reach the heights ‘The Fall’ does, and ‘Choker’ (an early demo) suffers under poor production.
This is merely a taster, after all, and In So Far shouldn’t be judged harshly – their talent is obvious and they have an ability to write effective songs that could easily be played on a bigger stage. Their recently completed tour with Mindless Self Indulgence can’t have done them any harm in that respect. This is a band we could see a lot more of in the future 3/5
Rockmidgets review -
Insofar are exactly what the British music scene needs right now. We seem to have been lost in a sea of Indie-rock acts over the past year as they dominate the once pop-only singles chart. But the tide is turning - Insofar alongside Reuben and Bullet For My Valentine are showing the best of the British rock scene.
Black Velvet Magazine -
The songs are big, they’re played well and it’s a good recording to boot. In So Far play rock in a pretty unfiltered and uncontaminated manner. It’s a style that won’t go out of fashion but can cater to every person regardless of taste. If this band can keep it together (you never know, bands break up all the time…) they look destined for big things.
